We are a group of experienced professionals dedicated to the XMAN mission to transition student athletes into multidimensional men. We all have roots in the state of Alabama, and we are proud to be working together to create opportunities for our future generations.

Retired Educator
Mrs. Carolyn Cheeks-Berry served as a professional educator for 35 years in the Montgomery Public Schools, Autauga County Public Schools, and the Omaha Public Schools. She earned a B.S. degree from Alabama State University in 1980. In addition, she earned a Master of Education (M.A.) in 2008 and an Education Specialist degree in 2012. During her career as an educator, she served in many facets of the education spectrum including classroom teacher, Library Media Specialist, administration leadership team, and electives department leader. She has served in many youth-centered programs promoting youth development. Her career as a professional educator involved serving as an organizer and director of youth mentoring program, club sponsorships, youth leadership programs in school, church, and community settings. Mrs. Berry has spearheaded youth programs including tutorial programs, youth forums, and a plethora of engagements for youth exposure. She is an avid encourager and advocate for youths and is proud to put her 35 years of experience to work for XMAN.

Finance
After earning a degree in accounting from Alabama State University, Osten chose to use his financial knowledge to protect our homeland by becoming a criminal investigator. Osten also serves as the Treasurer for Alabama Edge, Inc. and is an advocate for equality and fair treatment for all. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Inc. In his spare time, Osten enjoys gaming, attending sporting events, learning new information and skills, and traveling both domestically and internationally.

Development, Political Outreach, & Community Involvement
Ollie J. Davison is an experienced political leader currently serving as the Legislative Affairs Specialist for the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations in the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington D.C. Mr. Davison served as the Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Terri Sewell of Alabama's 7th Congressional District, based out of Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to that role, he served as the first Chief of Staff for the Historic City of Selma, Alabama (Mayor's Office). Ollie was born and raised in an underserved community in Mobile County, Alabama, where he learned the fundamentals of politics. Ollie has been involved in political affairs for over 13 years and he believes that all politics are local. He has applied this philosophy to the entirety of his political career. Ollie truly has a servant's heart and will dedicate his life to help provide resources for all people, but especially those in need, as well as teach communities the tools they need to create a better quality of life for themselves. He was most recently awarded the Presidential Management Fellowship in 2022. Ollie is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the Delta Leadership Institute Network, and the Congressional Black Associates.

Founder
Coach Oscar Berry, III is the founder and president of Alabama EDGE, Inc., the parent organization of XMAN Performance and Development. He currently serves as an Admissions Counselor at Marion Military Institute (Marion, AL).
Formerly, Coach Berry functioned in multiple roles as the Activities Director, English and History Teacher, and Head Football Coach of the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors (Montgomery, AL).
Prior to starting careers in education and the nonprofit sector, Coach Berry served as District Director in the office of Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell, representing Alabama’s 7th Congressional District (Birmingham), as well as Field Director for Congressman Bobby Bright in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District (Montgomery).
Berry is a convicted believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the principles of His Kingdom. These form the foundation, the calling, and the platform to impact young men.

Marketing & Public Relations
Alabama native Jessica Rogers joins XMAN with fifteen years of marketing experience with brands like Toyota, Sam’s Club, and Salesforce. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Alabama and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. Throughout her career, Jessica has dedicated her free time to bettering her community. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Community Resource Center in Nashville, TN; provided GED tutoring through the Martha O’Bryan Center also in Nashville, TN; taught art classes through the Alabama Charcoal program in Birmingham, AL; and served the Bay Area with the Full Circle Fund in San Francisco, CA. Jessica currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and daughter.

Wayne Heard is a proud native Alabamian – born and raised in Birmingham, AL
Wayne currently chairs the Washington, D.C. Advisory Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. In 2019, Wayne’s journey led him to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he was appointed Senior Advisor in the Administrator’s Office of Policy. At the EPA, Wayne oversaw national policy, grants, and rulemaking/regulations in Community Revitalization, Environmental Justice, and served as the EPA designee for the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. In his personal and professional journeys, Wayne has worked to serve others and remove barriers to society realizing everyone’s full potential. Previously, Wayne created and implemented diversion career development and financial empowerment programs in Alabama’s 7th and 10th Judicial Circuits and the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Wayne also established work force development programs for the Jefferson County, Alabama Sherriff, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Innovate Birmingham. Wayne cherishes family, humanity, and the wisdom his grandparents and life teach him.
